It is with huge pride and humility that we present Llamau’s Impact Report to you this year. The challenges faced by Llamau and the people we are privileged to support have at times seemed insurmountable, could we keep up service delivery and essential support in our 24 hour projects and frontline services? Could we afford the essential PPE and extra cleaning material and  how on earth were we going to bridge the massive and ever increasing gaps to  fund services when we had no way of holding fundraising events?

Every single colleague in Llamau stepped up and delivered, living up to our mantra, “those who say it can’t be done are usually over taken by those doing it“. Thanks to that dedication, determination and sheer grit, Llamau kept going. Not only did we keep going but we managed to effectively and compassionately continue to deliver services, safe guard the people we are privileged to support and our incredible colleagues, and we ensured funding continued. But that wasn’t all, not only did we do all this we also opened several new projects to keep people safe.

We responded to a 50% increase in calls to our youth homeless helpline and an 80% increase to our refuge services for women fleeing Domestic Abuse.  We were there when people needed us and nothing is more important than that.  Our supporters and funders were right behind #TeamLlamau and our heartfelt thanks goes out to each and every friend, supporter and funder. We know the next few years will be as tough if not tougher then we have ever known, we will need those friends, supporters and funders more than ever.

The phenomenal achievements of the people Llamau is privileged to support shine through this Impact Report.  People took the support that was offered and found the strength and resilience to move forward with their lives; a huge testament to their courage and bravery.  Before the pandemic many of you will have heard the Llamau Sing and Inspire Choir at our fundraising events, one of our all time favourites was "Ain't no mountain high enough”. As I write this introduction, I can hear the Llamau choir singing.

That’s exactly what Llamau colleagues have done right through the pandemic and we dedicate this Impact Report  to our amazing friends and colleagues at Llamau. Despite the tiredness and exhaustion, our work family is still strong, determined and passionate. Llamau has unashamedly lived up to our values and culture. This is what has sustained us and what has continued to sustain us as we go forward.

Thank you
